It's a Date!
Calm down, I have a date for Kaiju Nation's launch
It seems like it’s been a little while since I posted my last article, technically it has been. I haven’t felt like writing anything for a few weeks and without getting into any of the details, it’s because I experienced something pretty traumatic. I witnessed something I hope many of you will never have to see. Don’t worry, I’m fine and so are my friends and family. However, for the last few weeks I haven’t had the drive to write and god did I want to write. I even took a bit of a hiatus from social media. It was a blessing in disguise though because it gave me the opportunity to focus on my mental health. If you ever find yourself struggling, make sure you reach out to someone whether it’s a trusted friend or a professional.
Now that’s out of the way, I want to talk about what I’m working on (or back to working on). I’m still having a lot of fun writing chapters for my LitRPG Dungeons and Degens and if you’re looking for a fun read, there are 12 chapters now up on Royal Road you can read for free. Don’t forget to follow and rate it! I’m also working on another LitRPG that is inspired by Andy Weir’s writing of the Martian and Project Hail Mary (great movie btw). This project will come out when I have a few chapters stockpiled and will put you in the boots of an astronaut. Try and survive the dangers of space like Mark Watney… except from the comfort and safety of your couch. If you’re excited for that story, let me know in the comments by sharing your favourite line from the movie or book. I think mine is “I'm going to have to science the s#!* out of this” but there are a lot to chose from.
Now for the comics!
Kaiju Nation #0
Here’s a sneak peek of the cover for Kaiju Nation #0 (final version will be trade dressed). Since this is a #0, there won’t be any variant covers for this campaign but there will be a ton of fun add-ons like Long Dark Winter, FALLEN trade-paperback, and more!
It’s shaping up to be a fun, slightly lighter hearted story than my previous ones and will be a nod to the golden age of the Saturday Morning Cartoons. The prelaunch page is currently live and going strong with over 110 followers and you can join that growing army by clicking here!
The campaign will be going live Tuesday May 19th!
Long Dark Winter #3
Long Dark Winter #3 is nearing 60% completion of the art and then will head off to Toben for his lettering magic.
Kickstarter just came out with some new “guidelines” which will impact which projects are going to be allowed and what’s going to be permitted to show on your project page. This is going to impact a lot of the NSFW campaigns and comics that show a lot of violence. This is because of pressures from the credit card processor Stripe.
While Long Dark Winter is violent and gory, I hope it’s not enough to make the Stripe clutch their pearls.
See everyone May 19th!
