Just when things seemed to be sorted out with ALICE #2, some more setbacks have popped up and the hunt for a new artist. I’m still hopeful to find someone that can bring a style that won’t knock the readers out of the story with a drastic change in style. ALICE is a project of passion and isn’t dead…just delayed.
In the meantime, I’ll have to make a changeup in the release schedule for the year. The work on Long Dark Winter #2 has wrapped and will be heading to the printers soon and I will be making a substitution for ALICE until that is all sorted out. Kaiju Nation #0 will be making it’s debut a lot earlier than expected. Kaiju Nations will be an action packed tribute to Saturday morning cartoons with massive monsters mashing it up!
A prelaunch page will be available soon to sign up to be notified! Also, don’t forget that the founder’s tier of the Substack includes bonus covers to my Kickstarters!
Comic News: Event Horizon!
One of my favourite movies growing up was Event Horizon. It was such a cool concept but I felt it was a crime that we never got to explore that universe more. Those days are over because the story is coming to IDW with an awesome team!
The five-part series will, according to the publishers, “embrace the hard-R rating” of the movie and “terrifying cinematic universe” created by director Paul W.S. Anderson and writer Philip Eisner. Taking place before the events of the film, the comics will tell the story of the final fate of the original Event Horizon crew and ask, what really happened to Captain Kilpack and the first crew as their ship journeyed across a nightmarish realm of torments beyond imagining? - Variety

Tokyo Blade Detectives #1-10
The hunt for a serial killer continues in the present while a new threat emerges in the past! All previous issues are available!
If you're new to Tokyo Blade Detectives, I'll happily give you a quick recap of things!
The story is set 200 years in the future, where Japan has been rebuilt through incredible technology and several new laws. But the one that no one can break is "No Guns Allowed."
While noble, it creates a power vacuum that is filled with groups using "laser swords." Now, the capital of Tokyo is constantly under siege. Five factions have risen up to take everything for themselves, and our main character, Miko, a 16-year-old detective, is just trying to live through it all.
Each arc/volume is four issues long, with each story directly tying into the next one in big and small ways. Everything is connected here, and that means the payoffs are more fun as a result.
If that sounds exciting to you all, great! You'll be able to get all past issues in this Kickstarter while also getting the newest issue in #10.
